Carpentry

The long-running saga of the "almost finished" master cabin continues. This weekend, having fitted in the new port side bulkhead, I have been making up all the teak trim for the shelf units on both sides of the cabin. I had about 75% of the original trim, but much of it was broken or pretty manky, so I have been cutting up old and new teak to make up a full set of trim.

This afternoon I have everything test-fitted in place. But still lots of work to do - now have to strip the varnish off all the old teak, have to sort out hardware for the small locker doors, still some painting to do on the port side, and of course varnish, varnish, varnish...

Officially Accredited Kamalii Photographer, Diana Diaz, took this cool shot from the masthead.

A nice day of almost sailing

Headed out with friends yesterday, beautiful day, but the promised 15 knots of wind was hard to find. So after a few hours we packed it in and headed to....Tiri. Of course. A fun time.
